Dream cafe - Cyprus
Overview
Go Greek at Sunset!
Perched overlooking the shore at Ayios Tychonas stands the Dream Café. With ample parking, plenty of shaded seating and friendly staff, it is the perfect place to while away the hours over drinks or a light meal. The café is open all day through so coffees and soft drinks can be ordered and if you are feeling hungry there are salads, sandwiches and a selection of tasty grilled foods.
If you fancy enjoying something traditionally Greek then it is best to plan to visit Dream Café in the early evening and to order an 'Ouzo Mezé'. Ouzo is the traditional Greek aperitif and Mezé (Mezédhes) is a selection of accompanying little plates of kalamari, fish, olives, cheese and other traditional foods that can be eaten at a leisurely pace as the sun sets.
By day, Dream Café is perfect for those wanting to enjoy the beach or water sports as it is conveniently close to a number of Blue Flag beaches and various water sport companies. The Café overlooks the lovely beach promenade (wheelchair and pushchair friendly) so is ideal for those who would like to take a wander to Saint Raphael Marina to the east or to Ancient Amathus to the west. For romantics, the best suggestion is a walk along the promenade to the Café to enjoy watching the sun sink and the beauty of the moon as it rises and its light shimmers on the waves.
