There are a number of bars in the Laiki Yitonia area of Larnaca, but the one that is earning a great reputation since it opened in December 2015 is Mukta Café and Culture Bar....

Mukta is situated in a beautiful restored old building, which whilst preserving the traditional, cultural heritage of Cyprus, with its clever interior design blends old and new perfectly. There are oriental table and chairs and elegant high bar stools lined up by the long bar which is dramatically lit in shades of fuchsia pink and blue. Mukta
has a multi cultural concept and bears all the hallmarks of its creator Paris Christophides, who created the ever-popular Guru Bar.

Mukta already has a reputation for its selection of drinks, which include vermouths, rums and impressive collections of whiskies and gins. There is a good choice of wines, including Cypriot, Greek, Italian and French labels. It is its dynamic signature cocktails for which Mukta is best known including Black Pearl Bellini and Voila le Mojito Marocain - to name just two! Mukta's cocktails are special as they embrace the character of Cyprus being made with many traditional local ingredients.

The food at Mukta is great too - tasty international fusion cuisine that includes meat and cheese platters for sharing and tapas served on oriental trays. There are homemade sweets and cakes to tempt - with delicious walnut cake being one of the favourites! Behind the scenes, the Guru's dynamic Chef, Yiannis Doultsis ensures the kitchen runs smoothly and standards are high.

Mukta is the place to relax with friends and shisha at Mukta is big - there are plenty of staff members on hand to help those who have not tried shisha before or need advice on the aromatic range of fruit and spice tobaccos.

For music fans, the name Mukta is very familiar as Mukta Music is a Cyprus based music label that produces CDs of eclectic music compilations that are distributed worldwide.

Mukta Café and Culture Bar offers great music from many genres including;
jazz, bossa, Latin, acid jazz, electronic, ethnic fusion and classical. Many contemporary styles are showcased in Mukta's enthusiastic support of young musicians.

The ethos at Mukta is that music is to be shared with love and enjoyed for self realisation - and you can't say more than that!

Mukta is closed for summer and it will open end of September.
